Dinesh says Christianity gave us our values. I think people gave Christianity it’s values.
What a wonderful and provacative question. Could we humans have obtained our values but for Christ?
I love the idea that many of the values we have could have been obtained by humans, and claimed by Christianity.

Agreed. This also helps to understand changing values of the mainstream members of the church over time. Evidence that social values are used to assign variable priority to so-called pillars of the faith, rather than vice versa.
